Gorgeous George and Stunning Simola
The third in our Garden Route series of golf and lifestyle adventures in South Africa - but not the end of our South Africa trip - so click subscribe as you’ll be in for a real and unexpected treat with our final SA video coming shortly.
Travelling along the Garden Route you are spoilt for choice of where to stay and play, we stayed at Fancourt whilst playing George GC, but then jumped in the car to drive the pleasant short one hour trip East to Simola where we stayed for two nights and played the Jack Nicklaus course.
Two very different golf course offerings, both amazing and both we’d return to

Fan of Fancourt?
Are you a fan of Fancourt, South Africa?
We are - and here’s why….
Three championship courses set in a lush lifestyle golf resort of around 115 rooms nestled beneath the Outeniqua Mountain range. What’s not to like?
A resort for all the family, but probably best known for the three golf courses being Montague, Outeniqua and the Links - with the latter being the no. 1 golf course in South Africa. Not that the Montague and Outeniqua courses are poor relations - they certainly are not and also feature high in the SA rankings in there own right.
Gary Player must have had great fun with these special designs, working in and capitalising on the impressive views of the mountains, designing around pristine white washed buildings synonymous in the Western Cape with their brown thatch pitched roof to contrast the white. Water, white bunkers and great designs, its all here..
Situated just 20 mins North of George, its easy access to airports in George is a massive positive. Cape Town sits about 5.5 hours drive to the West which allows for a scenic drive along the Garden Route. -
Captivating Cape Town & Clovelly Golf Club
Welcome to Sunny Cape Town, South Africa.
This is the first of a series of videos we will produce about golf and lifestyle we experienced recently.
Playing Clovelly Golf Club, near Fish Hoek, just 35 mins south of the beautiful Cape Town on the Cape peninsula was a real treat. Despite the kikuyu grass, something we are not so used to in England, the playing conditions were top notch. Aided by wall to wall sunshine we share the evolution of the course and its history, as well as some playing highlights too. Its hardly surprising Clovelly is number 45 in South Africa, we loved it - the golf course and the friendly membership.
We also share some things to do and iconic places to visit in Cape Town for some sightseeing, relaxing and enjoyment in this beautiful city.
